French Exchange Students On Campus
Posted March 3, 2010
Episcopal's French Department recently welcomed 16 French exchange students and their two teachers from Lycée Largenté in Bayonne, France. Episcopal is excited about building this new relationship with Lycée Largenté as it is the inaugural year for the program. During their visit, the French students engaged in a wide variety of activities. In addition to shadowing Episcopal students to class they were treated to a VIP look at the Jacksonville Jaguars training facilities. Their visit also included trips to Cape Canaveral's Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, and Old St. Augustine. Madame Merrill expressed that while she knows everyone enjoyed seeing the Florida sites, the best part of the exchange program is the relationship built between the host family and their exchange student. "I have seen families that hosted a child for two weeks that still keep in touch for many years down the road because of the bond that is made during their time in the French exchange program." On May 21, Largenté will return the favor when our students will be traveling to France to complete the exchange. It is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
