English sites - British literature

  • Anne Frank Online aims to introduce visitors to Anne Frank and the Holocaust and to teach the importance of tolerance. There is information about Anne's life and times, including a timeline, a scrapbook, and excerpts from her famous diary. A virtual tour of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam is accessible in the links section.
  • Anne Frank the writer: an unfinished story - Established as a joint project of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Netherlands Institute for War Documentation, this is an online exhibit of original writings by the young victim of WWII. Includes links to other resources about Frank's life and work.
  • British Literature Index - Includes outlines and links to sources for medieval, Renaissance, Restoration 19th century, romantic, Victorian and modern periods. Also includes an outline of the English novel with resource links.
  • Dante home page - Links to everything Dante and everything medieval.
  • Victorian Web Overview - George P. Landow, Professor of English and art history at Brown University, designed and edited this web, made many of the links, and is responsible for most of the materials on the individual authors. The site also draws upon several other hypertext webs developed under Professor Landow's direction, and demonstrates the potential of hypertext in literary study. Links to life during Victorian times under Social Context and the Search capabilities make this particularly useful for many projects.
