Frequently-asked questions

  • Do you have a dress code?
    • Yes. Our Middle School students are in mandatory school uniforms. Upper School students do not have uniforms, but do have a dress code.
  • Does Episcopal give scholarships for athletic or artistic talent?
    • No. The Florida High School Activities Association, which governs our extra-curricular programs, specifically forbids scholarships for these reasons. Episcopal's financial aid is based on need.
  • Is there a certain grade you need to make on the entrance test to be offered admission?
    • No. Testing is very important, but the admissions committee takes into consideration all aspects of the student's performance. Typically, however, students who are successful at Episcopal score well above the national average on nationally-normed standardized tests.
  • What are your school hours?
    • Each day begins with an optional tutorial/activities period from 7:45 to 8:10 a.m. The day officially begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:05 p.m.
  • What are some of the colleges your students go on to attend?
    • Episcopal is proud of its tradition of 100% college placement for its graduates. Recent graduates are attending schools such as Duke, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Harvard, Washington & Lee, Wake Forest, and the University of Virginia, in addition to some competitive in-state schools such as the University of Florida.
  • Does Episcopal provide transportation for its students?
    • No. Most Episcopal students either carpool or contract with one of the local transportation services which transport large numbers of students to and from school.
  • Can students interested in Episcopal visit classes?
    • Yes. You may contact the Admissions office to schedule a full-day or half-day visit. When you arrive, you will be assigned to a host or hostess who will take you to classes and to lunch. Campus tours are also available for students and parents, by appointment.
