College counseling calendar: an overview
- Eighth-grade year
- Eighth-grade meeting for parents and students
- Freshman year
- Freshmen college experience a half-day freshman program designed to help students set goals for a successful high school experience, includes "Making High School Count."
- Sophomore year
- PSAT preview
- PSAT test taken by all sophomores
- Spring workshops: half-day program including seminars taught by college admissions officers on a variety of topics: "Writing the College Essay," "Resume Building," "Colleges for the Arts," "Honors Colleges" and "Athletic Recruiting."
- Spring mini-college fair at Episcopal
- Sophomores assigned a college counselor
- Junior year
- PSAT review
- PSAT test taken by all juniors
- Meetings with college representatives visiting Episcopal
- NACAC college fair in November
- January meeting with all parents of juniors
- Eleven-session college counseling class (February-April)
