Middle School
The Episcopal Middle School provides the necessary bridge between the child-centered activity of elementary school and the content-centered activity of high school. The program is designed to meet the diverse intellectual, social and physical needs of early adolescents. The curriculum is presented by teachers committed to challenging and supporting young teens.
Students complete courses in English, math, history, social studies, science, and foreign language. An elective cycle introduces students to the fine arts, computers and personal learning strategies.
Numerous opportunities for hands-on learning are built into the curriculum. Trips to such places as Sea Camp in the Florida Keys and ecology centers in the Appalachians provide for academic enrichment as well as involvement in cooperative learning.
