Tutoring schedule

Mondays
Ms. Jimenez goes to The Bridge of Northeast Florida to tutor kindergarten to 3rd grade.

From EHS cross the Hart Bridge exiting onto Adams Street. Take Adams to the second traffic light and go right on Newnan Street. Take Newnan to 8th Street. Take a left onto 8th Street and continue to the corner of 8th Street and Pearl Street. The Bridge is located on the left in the yellow and green building at 320 W. 8th Street.

Tuesdays
Ms. Quant (first semester) and Mr. McCown (second semester) go to Mt. Carmel Gardens to visit with the elderly.

From EHS take Art Museum Drive to the Hart Bridge Expressway. Get onto the expressway and bear left onto Beach Blvd. From Beach Blvd., turn right onto University Blvd. From University, turn left onto Mt. Carmel Terrace.

Help teach physically and/or mentally-challenged children at Horse Sense and Sensitivity with Tracey Mitchell. Parents pick up volunteers at the Boys' Home at 6:00 PM.

Horse Sense and Sensitivity is a therapeutic horsebacking program for youth with mental/physical challenges. It is located at the Boys' Home next to Jacksonville University on University Boulevard North. Take a left on Atlantic Blvd, and proceed left on University Blvd North. The Boys' Home is on the left. Please contact Ms. VCM to become a trained volunteer.

Wednesdays
Ms. McCoy (first semester) goes to daniel, Inc. for emotionally disturbed youth ages 6-15 to play games.

daniel Inc. is located near St. Luke's Hospital at 3725 Belfort Road. Take Art Museum Drive across Atlantic Blvd. and turn left at the first light onto Beach Blvd. Take a right onto Parental Home Rd., and when it dead-ends, take a left onto Bowden Road. Bowden dead-ends into Belfort Road and Daniel Inc. Go through the privacy fence; the main office is marked clearly.

Thursdays
Mr. Brozowski (first semester) and Ms. Cooper (second semester) go to The Sanctuary of Northeast Florida to tutor and do projects.

From EHS, take the Hart Bridge to the Adams St. exit. Take a right on Liberty St. then a left onto 8th St. Stay on 8th St. until you reach The Sanctuary. Once you cross Market Street you will see the building: the large post office building on the left; if you reach Main Street, you've gone too far. We are between Hubbard St. and Market St. Park in the side parking lot, and enter through the side door facing the parking lot.

Fridays
Ms. Pauly (first semester) goes to Girls, Inc. for recreation with 5-13 year olds.

From EHS take a right out of the main gate onto Atlantic Blvd. Turn left at the first light onto Art Museum Dr. Turn left at the first light onto the expressway. Stay in the right lane which puts you on Emerson. Turn right on Spring Park Road. Pass the post office on your left. Take a right on Stanley Rd. past the apartments, and go through the gate; Girls, Inc. is in the large building on your right.

Alternates: Carol Daraskevich, Gary Thrift (Monday and Wednesday), Gail Connery (third quarter only) and Carolyn Wehle (excluding Wednesday),  Alex Nichols (first semester), Andy Kidd (fourth quarter only), Marta Pauly (second semester).
