Attendance Office Information

  • Any students who arrive on campus after 8:15 a.m. will be considered late to homeroom (or period one on Wednesdays), and will be marked tardy.  Late students must sign in with the Attendance Office with a note or call from parent to be considered excused.
  • SIGN-IN POLICY : When a student signs in with the Attendance Office, he or she will receive an admission slip which will permit entrance to the class. No student will be allowed in class without an admission slip, and failure to sign in will result in disciplinary consequences. Classroom teachers are required to report class tardies; the deans then monitor the tardies and assign consequences as appropriate.
  • Students who need to leave campus during the school day must submit a note signed by a parent or guardian to the Attendance Office the day of the appointment before the start of school.  The student will be given an early dismissal form, so he or she may leave class at an appropriate time and come to front office to sign out.
  • Students who return to campus on the day of the early dismissal must sign in and submit a note signed by a parent or a receipt from the doctor’s office to receive an admission slip.
  • In the event of an illness: a parent must contact the Attendance Office by 10:00 a.m. each day a student is not in school (see phone number below).  If the family fails to notify the School, a call will be made to the family. When students return to school, he or she must bring a note, written and signed by a parent, to the Attendance Office.  Students who arrive after 8:15 a.m. must sign in with the Attendance Office.
  • Episcopal has a clinic in the Attendance Office, but it is not staffed by medical personnel. The clinic serves students in the following ways:
    • As a place for those who become ill during the school day to wait for pick up
    • As a dispensary for prescription medications (Parents must submit to the Attendance Office all prescription medications with written dispensing instructions.)
    • As a dispensary for the over-the-counter medications, should the student and parent deem it necessary. All over-the-counter medications must come in the original packaging with written instructions; each should be signed and dated by parents indicating the dosage amount. This is for any medication for which we do not already have permission forms on file.

For any questions regarding procedures, please call Susan Schuster, head of attendance, at 904.396.5752, ext. 1608.
