Episcopal is proud to sponsor one of the most competitive and expansive athletic programs in the state of Florida.

Our strong athletic tradition goes back to the early days of the School. In the ‘70s our swim program produced numerous Olympic medalists, and our boys team was named national champions. More recently, our girls cross country program has gained a strong national reputation, winning three consecutive state championships and being ranked in the top 15 nationally. Over the past decade, 20 of our varsity teams have captured district titles, while cross country, baseball, crew, and track and field have all gone on to win state championships.
The School currently fields nearly 60 teams in 16 different sports. Competition, participation, teamwork, and physical fitness are equally important elements of our Middle School athletic program. In addition, our varsity teams are very competitive at the state and regional levels. Many of our athletes continue their athletic careers in their college years; Episcopal graduates now participate in sports at many of the nation’s finest athletic and academic institutions, including Georgia, Yale, Florida State, Harvard, Florida, Princeton, and Georgetown.
Episcopal is extremely proud of its exceptional coaches, who are teachers before all else. Many of our coaches were distinguished college or professional athletes who later dedicated themselves to teaching the sport they love. Most important, our coaches are role models who teach and adhere to Christian values and a strong moral code.
Episcopal’s athletic facilities rival those at many colleges. The School boasts seven well-manicured Bermuda grass fields, two gymnasiums, an aquatics center, six tennis courts, a state-of-the-art running track, and three lighted playing fields. Recent enhancements to the Semmes Gym and Aquatic Center have made those venues terrific places to watch an event. The Walton Boathouse is among the finest crew facilities anywhere, and our riverfront softball field is a spectacular setting for a game.
Go, Eagles!
