Middle School volleyball

Our Middle School volleyball team returned six players from last year. After a summer off, they appeared faster, eager, and ready for the challenges of the season. We added seven seventh graders to the team and two new eighth graders. They worked hard to learn the game and accepted each challenge with enthusiasm and yearning to perform better. The team had five captains: Maddie Barker, Anna Bauman, Taylor Bowen, Devon DeLorenzo, and Mackenzie Kotos. Our team had several outstanding games; notably the home game against Bolles when the School allowed the Middle School classes to come out and cheer us on to victory. We played in the Independent Middle School Conference verses St. Johns, a team which we previously lost against during a home competition, winning the finals 25-14, 25-14. We had many outstanding players throughout the season: Taylor Bowen has been our starting setter and she was also one of our leading servers and scores; McKenzie Kotos has been our leading hitter on the front row, bringing high intensity to the Middle School level; and Anna Bauman added a lot to our team success as a returning back-row player, becoming a strong all-around player.
