Charlie Hunt
Head Coach

Coach Charlie Hunt has been coaching both football and track at Episcopal for 25 years. A Jacksonville native, he graduated from Wolfson High School, where he played football and ran track, competing in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay. Coach Hunt received a football scholarship to Florida State University as a defensive end. He was then drafted by the San Francisco 49ers where he played two years as an outside linebacker before being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also played for the Canadian Football League, WFL, USFL, and AFA before retiring from football.

Coach Hunt currently coaches the varsity football linemen and is the varsity track and field head coach, specializing in training the sprinters. After several runner-up finishes at state competitions, his girls won the 2A state championship in 2007. Hunt has coached numerous individual state champions, most recently Daisy Glasser ’07, Laura Steel ’08 and Maggie Traylor ’08. In addition to coaching, he also owns his own gym, Definitions, where he is a personal trainer.

Pat Crandall
High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump and Triple Jump Coach

Coach Crandall has been competing in track continuously since 1964. In 2003, he won the Florida State Masters Track & Field Championship in the 110 high hurdles, the triple jump and the high jump. He has been coaching at Episcopal since 1994 and handles the four jumping events. Coach Crandall's son and daughter held the Pole Vault school records at Episcopal and his daughter, Carrie '00, attended Florida State University with a pole vaulting scholarship.

Michelle Krueger
Girls Distance Coach
Girls Cross Country Head Coach

Coach Michelle Krueger began her running career at age 16, earning herself several notable state rankings and awards. She received a cross country scholarship to attend Jacksonville University (JU) where she again earned multiple awards and MVP recognitions. After graduation in 1997, she became volunteer assistant coach for the Winter Park High School girls cross country team where they finished first in the 1997 6-A state cross country championship. In the summer of 1999 she became head coach of the Episcopal girls cross country team. Since she began coaching at Episcopal her team has never placed lower than 4th in the state and received a championship title in 2000 and 2005. Her team recently completed the 2005 season ranked 15th in the country and was invited to attend the prestigious Nike Team Nationals, which no other Florida girls team has ever attended.

Brenden Bledsoe '98
Shot put Coach 
This is Coach Bledsoe's third season as the shot put coach for the track team and the offensive line coach for the varsity football team.  He played football for two years at Northeastern University, and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor of business administration in 2004.  His younger brother is Clark Bledsoe '09, and he currently serves as the district executive for the Boy Scouts of America.

Kevin Day
Assistant Coach
Boys Cross Country Assistant Coach
A former All-State and All-New England cross country and track athlete at Staples High School in Connecticut, Kevin continued his competitive career at the University of Virginia where he became a co-captain of the mens cross country and track teams.  After graduation, Kevin began his coaching career back at Staples in 1996 as the head girls cross country coach and assistant boys and girls track coach.  During his tenure from 1996 to 1999, the girls cross country team captured the FCIAC county championship in 1997 and the CIAC Class MM State Championship in 1998. 

In 1999, Kevin earned his USATF Level II Distance Coaching certification.  He accepted a position as volunteer assistant coach with the mens and womens cross country and track teams at the University of Virginia for the 1999-2000 academic year.  From 1999-2004 Kevin guided the training of several marathoners who had a wide spectrum of ability and experience levels.
