Ed Egan
Varsity Boys Head Coach
Head lacrosse coach Ed Egan comes to Jacksonville and Episcopal from New England where he spent the past six seasons coaching at the prestigious Massachusetts Maritime Academy, an NCAA Division-III Pilgrim League program on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Egan coached Mass Maritime to a Pilgrim League play-off berth in 2003 and was a New England college “coach of the year” nominee in 2004. Egan led the East squad in the New England east-west senior all-star game for two seasons, coaching a mix of Division I, II and III seniors. As a three-year-member of the steering committee for the national north-south all-star game, Egan helped elevate the event to take place on championship weekend in May as part of the festivities of the NCAA semifinals and finals.
Prior to Mass Maritime, Egan was the first assistant at Division-I Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, for two seasons, where he coached three All-American players during some of Lafayette’s most successful seasons.
Coach Egan’s coaching career began in youth lacrosse in Pennsylvania in 1992 where he started the Emmaus youth lacrosse program, the first of its kind in eastern Pennsylvania, which now has grown to 20 community-sponsored teams throughout the Lehigh Valley. Egan also founded and helped coach the Emmaus High School boys’ team to a Penn Valley League championship. He was a player at Lehigh University from 1974-1976, and graduated in 1977. He lives in Ponte Vedra with his son, Chris, 21, and has four other children: Sara, 28, Brendan, 26, Daniel, 23 and Ashley, 19.
Kelly Hoyt
Junior Varsity Boys Head Coach
Coach Kelly Hoyt served as a four-year attackman for East Carolina University. After graduation, he coached lacrosse at Langley High School in Virginia and at Hyde High School. He has taught and coached lacrosse at Episcopal since 2003, serving as both the Middle School lacrosse head coach and the junior varsity lacrosse head coach.

Chip Lonsdale
Middle School Boys Head Coach
Coach Lonsdale enters his third season as coach of the Middle School lacrosse team. Coach Lonsdale served as a four-year faceoff midfielder for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Coach Lonsdale played on three college teams which made the NCAA Division-I Mens Lacrosse tournament (1990-1993) and was a three-year Monogram letter winner for the Irish. Prior to his playing at Notre Dame, he played for Baltimore lacrosse power St. Pauls School for Boys in the MIAA 'A' Division. Upon graduation from college, he served as an assistant lacrosse coach at his alma mater working with his high school coach, Mitch Whiteley. Mr. Lonsdale is a member of the Episcopal faculty, teaching Upper School U.S. History and World History 2. He previously served as a long-term substitute teacher at Episcopal, teaching 7th grade world geography, 8th grade US history, 10th grade World History 2 and AP European History.

Alex Nichols
Junior Varsity Boys Assistant Coach
Coach Alex Nichols last played lacrosse at Episcopal High School in northern Virginia. He also teaches 10th and 11th-grade history, and serves as the history department chairman. Mr. Hoyt is his coaching mentor.

Noelle MacDougall
Girls Head Coach
Coach MacDougall hails from Annapolis, Maryland where she played and coached girls field hockey and lacrosse at Annapolis High School. She attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas and helped coach the Baylor mens lacrosse team, as there wasn’t a women’s team. After three years coaching the men’s team, Coach Mac co-founded the Baylor womens lacrosse team her senior year, which is a successful club team now. A few years later she found herself back in Maryland teaching oceanography and earth and space systems science at her alma mater, Annapolis High. She coached the AHS girls field hockey and lacrosse teams during her four years there, never having a losing season. A Navy wife, Coach Mac and her husband are now stationed in Jacksonville for three years. She is currently studying for her second-level Sommelier certification while working at The Grape in the St. John’s Town Center, and is excited to be coaching again, especially in such a welcoming community.

Lauren Maynes
Girls Assistant Coach
Coach Lauren Maynes was born and raised in Vermont where she was introduced to lacrosse in the seventh grade. She played throughout high school, and furthered her love for the game as a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team at Wheaton College. During her tenure at Wheaton, Lauren garnered such awards as: All-American (2001-2004), NEWMAC Conference Player of the Year (2002-2004), NEWMAC Rookie of the Year (2001), MVP and team captain. Lauren moved to Jacksonville from Boston in September 2006. She currently works as a personal trainer at the beaches and is thrilled to additionally be involved with the girls lacrosse program at Episcopal.
Kristen Cook
Girls Assistant Coach
Coach Kristen Cook was born and raised in Rochester, New York, where she played four years of varsity lacrosse in high school. She then went on to college at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where she continued her lacrosse career, playing three of her four years as a varsity starter. Cook currently works for St. Johns County Fire Rescue as a fire investigator and inspector. She loves the sport of lacrosse, and is encouraged by its growth in Florida.
