Boosters FAQ's

Why has Boosters created the $25 Eagle Sports Package?
Boosters is moving away from its original fundraising focus, but wishes to continue providing support to our student athletes through programs such as photography and the senior athletic banquet. The Eagle Sports Package provides each athlete with an official team and individual photo at no additional charge. Boosters will also fund the senior athletic banquet and a variety of athletic awards and recognition activities. Proceeds from the Eagle Sports Package will provide the operating revenue to continue these programs.

What if I have a child in multiple sports or more than one student athlete in the family?
The Eagle Sports Package fee applies only once per athlete per year, and will be billed during the first season (fall teams in October, winter in December and spring in February) in which your athlete competes on an Episcopal team.

Will I still get pictures of my son/daughter from Boosters?
Yes. Boosters will continue to take the official individual and team pictures. We will continue to provide individual 4x6 and the team 5x7 to all athletes at no charge. In addition, seniors will get a 4x6 of the senior group picture. These pictures will be distributed at the end-of-year celebrations for each team.

I used to be able to reorder pictures from Boosters. Will that still be available?
Yes. We plan to streamline the process; all reorders can be done online, and photos mailed directly to your home. Also available online will be candid and action shots. We encourage parents who like to take photos to contact us, so we can make those photos available online as well.

I used to get into games free as a Booster member. How will that work now?
The Athletic Department will offer an annual admission pass similar to the one provided with past Booster memberships. The price is $75 per family for the entire school year, and passes can be purchased at the gate during home games.

I don’t want an annual admission pass, but will be helping as a volunteer at sporting events. Do I have to pay to get in?
No. Team parents will be responsible for designating those who have volunteered during a game/event; these assistants will not have to pay for admission.

What if I don’t want to pay for the Eagle Sports Package?
The charge is not mandatory, and can be refunded. It will be assumed that families who choose not to participate do not want any of the benefits which Boosters provides for their child(ren).

Boosters used to recruit and train team parents. How will that work?
Team parents still have a critical role in our athletic program, and Boosters will encourage parents to get involved. However, it will be the coaches’ responsibility, along with the athletic director, to ensure that team parents for each team are designated.

Many changes to ensure consistency across the entire athletic program are occurring. Where can I find more information about policies and procedures?
During the summer the athletic director will be publishing the Episcopal Athletic Handbook and Team Parent Guidelines. These resources will assist in the transition, and will also be available on the School website.

Boosters used to fund team club accounts. How will that work?
There will be a number of changes with these accounts; these changes will be explained in more detail in the near future. The key point is that Episcopal has significantly increased athletic funding, meaning that individual team club accounts and team fundraising will be considerably less important than in the past.

How will concessions work next year?
The Athletic Department will be responsible for stocking concession stands and managing cash boxes. Team parents will continue to obtain parent volunteers to staff concessions during games.

The 2007-2008 school year was the final year in which the Athletic Boosters actively participated in funding athletic programs. What did they contribute?
Boosters contributed $67,500, distributed as follows:
  • $37,200 team club accounts
  • $13,300 AD funding from 06-07 concessions
  • $12,000 banners for the Semmes gym
  • $5,000 to fully fund the Support Fund for Athletes
