Excellence in Athletics
As the regular spring athletics season comes to a close, Episcopal would like to dedicate this week’s Excellence in Athletics honor to the spring teams.
- Crew - Both the boys and girls teams were City Champions, while the girls finished3rd in the state. The girls lightweight 8 placed 6th in the state, and the girls varsity 8 placed 5th.
- Weightlifting - The boys team finished 23rd in the team, while Chris Lenahen took 3rd in the 183 lb. division.
- Lacrosse - The boys team were district finalists, while the girls were district semifinalists in their inaugural season.
- Tennis - The girls team were district and regional champions and placed 6th in the state. The boys were regional champions and finished 8th in the state. The JV girls team finished with an undefeated season.
- Baseball - The team was regular-season district champions, and won its regional quarterfinal and semifinal games. The team will now face Pensacola Catholic in a three-game series for the right to move onto the state final four.
- Track - The girls team finished 6th in the state, while the boys finished 40th. Congratulations to the following individual winners:

- Laura Steel '08, 3rd in state (4x800 meter relay), 8th in state (1600 meter run)
- Paige Shirley '10, 5th in state (pole vault)
- Chris Pizzo '08, 6th in state (shot put)
- Emily Smithwick '12, 9th in state (pole vault)
